FLU FOR YOU? or Prevention

The fact is the practice of flu vaccination in the elderly is not based on evidence, but an article of faith. Should the Elderly Get the FLU jab?  Use the search window in the right column to find our numerous posts on vaccines, flu, vitamin D, vitamin C, and more Natural Health News to keep you healthy and well... From Dr Eisenstein   The risk of children suffering from flu can be reduced by 50% if they take vitamin D, doctors in Japan have found. Silver: A tried and true germ fighter

Today's news gives us hope that mainstream medicine is waking up to concepts that can be of great help to people yet are often not considered. Silver based medications were a main ingredient in therapy when I was in charge of a large urban burn center in the 1970s. Much use of this healer is documented in this article found on our main website - An Indepth History of Silver: Historic Perspectives on Clinical Use and Efficacy of Silver Other things that can be of great use are pure essential oils.  I know of a case in a burn center where they used silver and tea tree oil in a spray that promoted 30% faster healing to the amazement of the staff. In this LA Times article today - Silver found to increase effectiveness of antibiotics Silver, used for centuries to fight infection and other germs, when added to antibiotics in trace amounts makes the drugs as much as 1,000 times more effective in treating mice, researchers find. SOURCE It will be amazing when the natural therapies bec...

On the Attack Against Dr Wright Again

Gambar
Currently in the stifling bureaucratic environment of Washington State Jonathan Wright, MD is under attack again, this time from the Department of Health. The problem, as reported, seems to have to do more with an error on the part of the WA DOH bureaucrats that anything Dr. Wright did or did not do. This is fairly typical for this department. Their current Secretary has been a party and state loyalist for decades. This agency will go to great lengths to protect the agency long before it will admit wrong doing and make any corrective changes. It is little different than Washington state's Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) or other agency for that matter. In 1998 the then governor issued an executive order addressing the lack of proper investigative acumen in state agencies. Clearly WA DOH ignored this over the past decade and more. Look at the recent attack on Phil Werschler, MD of Spokane. Look back many years at the attack on Glenn Warner, MD of Seattle. He...

FLU Shot and the Elderly: Nothing New

You will have heard in recent days that the spin on the recent flu vaccine failure, especially with the elderly, is making the rounds on almost all media outlets.  When I first heard this I thought where have these people been and why aren't they reporting with real facts and connected reporting of the same issue for many years past. February 21, 2013 ATLANTA (AP) — It turns out this year's   flu shot   is doing a startlingly dismal job of protecting senior citizens, the most vulnerable age group. The vaccine is proving only 9 percent effective in people 65 and older against the harsh strain of the flu that is predominant this season, the   Centers for Disease Control and Prevention   said Thursday. SOURCE I guess it is the continuation of the promotion of confusion or just plain not wanting you to know.  In general the issue of vaccinating Elders and getting poor results is not new.  And if it is well established that the effectiveness is  just n...
